The day we arrived in Nice (Pronounced: Niece), France, I took one look at the shiny, blue and clear water, and at once I wanted to jump in to the sea! I asked if we could go to the beach that afternoon. My mum answered, "Of course we can go!" Now this beach is different, there is no sand, the beach is actually a pebble beach. But the pebbles on this particular beach in Nice (Niece) have huge pebbles. Also the sea is part of the Mediterranean Sea. This was also why I wanted to swim in the sea, as I have never swum in the Mediterranean Sea. My Dad has also never swam in the Mediterranean Sea before, and he is 43 (44 on July 16th)!

So that afternoon, we went to the beach. Lying down on the pebbles was quite comfortable, as it was like having a massage! The pebbles were really hot as the sun was shining down. I walked slowly down to shore, nearly burning my feet, then slipped on the pebbles and landed on my bum! I started laughing and my mum joined in laughing too! I finally got into the sea and it was so nice and cold. I went in until I couldn't stand up. Strangely, I felt that the water on my feet was colder then above! How strange, do you know why this was? If you do leave me a comment with the answer.
