The day we arrived in Nice (Pronounced: Niece), France, I took one look at the shiny, blue and clear water, and at once I wanted to jump in to the sea! I asked if we could go to the beach that afternoon. My mum answered, "Of course we can go!" Now this beach is different, there is no sand, the beach is actually a pebble beach. But the pebbles on this particular beach in Nice (Niece) have huge pebbles. Also the  sea is part of the Mediterranean Sea. This was also why I wanted to swim in the sea, as I have never swum in the Mediterranean Sea. My Dad has also never swam in the Mediterranean Sea before, and he is 43 (44 on July 16th)!
Above: My brother, Dad and I in the sea.
So that afternoon, we went to the beach. Lying down on the pebbles was quite comfortable, as it was like having a massage! The pebbles were really hot as the sun was shining down. I walked slowly down to shore, nearly burning my feet, then slipped on the pebbles and landed on my bum! I started laughing and my mum joined in laughing too! I finally got into the sea and it was so nice and cold.  I went in until I couldn't stand up. Strangely, I felt that the water on my feet was colder then above! How strange, do you know why this was? If you do leave me a comment with the answer.

Abi, it is nice to read your blog post. I have always wanted to go to France but have not made it yet. Well, I did land at the airport four years ago and change planes but that really does not count.

Did you have to wear sandals or beach shoes to get into the water because of the pebbles?

Take care.

Dear Miss Davis,

We had nothing on our feet so our feet got a bit pricked, but it was okay because it didn't hurt that much once you were in the water!

Love,
Abi

Dear Abi,
I like your blog very much! This story reminds me of when I went to the beach, although I didn't go to the same beach. I really like how you described how the water and the pebbles felt. The water looks so clear!!! Did the ocean look strange with pebbles instead of sand? You also had a great photo. I admire how you write!

Dear Abi,
Wow! The big Pebble Beach looks very amazing. By just looking at the picture I can see people really take care of the beach because the water is very clear and clean. I imagine swimming in that beach, it would have been a wonderful moment! Do you go often to the beach, if so was it the clearest beach you have seen? I hope you write more stories, i'm looking forward to you blog!
Sincerely,
Gaby
